Dashboards

A dashboard is created from the workspace and populated with charts drawn from one or more connected data sources. You can build charts directly on the dashboard canvas or add existing ones created elsewhere in the workspace. Dashboards refresh on a schedule or on demand, and each dashboard can also be created or updated programmatically through the REST API using the same resource that backs the web interface.

Beyond charts, dashboards support widgets such as text and markdown blocks, single-value metric tiles, filters that apply across multiple charts at once, and embedded tables. Widgets can be resized and rearranged freely on the canvas, and filters can be scoped to the whole dashboard or to individual widgets. This lets a single dashboard serve both a high-level summary view and more detailed drill-down needs.

Dashboards inherit the workspace's role-based access control, so an owner can grant view or edit access to specific users, roles, or the whole workspace. Dashboards can also be shared externally through a secured link or embedded in another application, with the underlying data still constrained by the permissions of the credential or session used to render it. Every view and edit is recorded for audit purposes.
